Overview

This IDC Energy Insights report presents the results of the IDC Vertical Research Annual Survey of oil and gas companies. The economics for the market remain volatile and traditional metrics of market health remain out of alignment; however, fundamentals are much stronger than 2009, and it is reflected in the size and number of deals for ETRM applications. In 2010, oil and gas companies are dependent on ETRM applications to get a complete view of their portfolios, which supports greater transparency and understanding of the level of risk the enterprise is exposed to as market conditions continue to fluctuate.
