Overview
This IDC Energy Insights Perspective analyzes the EMEA smart energy sector and outlines major M&A, alliance activities, business unit reorganizations, smart grid and smart meter projects and pilots, emobility developments, clean energy construction projects initiated or completed, and new supply contracts signed in 4Q12. A separate section at the end of the Perspective explores recent developments in the nuclear sector.
To provide us with a general economic trend on the clean energy sector, we present two indexes — the NASDAQ Clean Edge Green Energy Total Return Index (CEXX) and Société Générale's European Renewable Energy Total Return Index (ERIX).
