Jill Feblowitz is a nationally recognized thought leader in the application of information technology to the business problems of the energy industry. As an analyst, her understanding of the needs of the industry is grounded in experience over the last 25 years working as a consultant and in the field. Ms. Feblowitz has consulted professionals in the energy industry – working with all levels from traders and engineers to C-Level executives – representing Information Technology, Oil & Gas, Trading & Risk Management, Wholesale Energy Supply, Energy Delivery and Customer Operations. She has consulted energy companies on constructing their IT strategy to fit the dynamic needs of the energy industry.

As Vice President for IDC Energy Insights, Ms. Feblowitz manages a group of analysts that provide research-based advisory and consulting services that will enable energy executives in oil and gas and utilities to maximize the business value of their technology investments and minimize technology risk through accurate planning.

Ms. Feblowitz also is lead analyst of IDC Energy Insights’ research advisory service, Utility IT Strategies, covering major application areas including wholesale market operations, generation fleet optimization, work and asset management, meter data management, and customer care and billing. She is also a frequent contributor to the research advisory service, Oil and Gas IT Strategies.

Ms. Feblowitz contributes to the utilities and oil & gas blogs in the IDC Energy Insights Community (http://idc-insights-community.com/energy). Her Twitter handle is JillAtIDC.

Prior to working at IDC Energy Insights, Ms. Feblowitz ran Feblowitz Consulting, advising power and gas companies on best practices. She also helped software and services companies understand their position in the market, shape their product strategy and hone their message. Through Feblowitz Consulting, she served as an affiliate analyst in META Group’s Energy Information Strategies group. As former Service Director of AMR Research’s Energy Practice, Ms. Feblowitz led coverage of business and software trends. She set the research agenda for a team of AMR analysts. Ms. Feblowitz has also held the position of Senior Consultant at KEMA (formerly XENERGY, Inc.), focusing on energy efficiency, demand side management and the changes in business practices, processes, and systems required by new technology and deregulation. She worked at XENERGY for eight years.

Ms. Feblowitz is frequent contributor to trade journals such as Energy Risk, Electric Perspectives, Platt’s Energy Business and Technology and Public Utilities Fortnightly. She is a frequent speaker at trade shows within the industry, such as the Next Generation Utilities summits. She also holds a master electrician’s license. Ms. Feblowitz received her B.S. in Urban Studies from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
